CHARLESTON – The Amboy-LaMoille boys’ track team concluded its season with several team members competing in the IHSA Class 1A State Track Meet on May 24-26 at Eastern Illinois University in Charleston.
Junior Thomas Stamberger took 11th place overall in the 800-meter run. His finals time was 1:59.19. Stamberger had a time of 2:00.25 in the preliminaries, which was good enough to propel him to the finals.
The 800-meter run state champion was Riley Wells of Rockford Christian with a clocking of 1:53.72.
The Clippers’ Kyle Hunter participated in the shot put and did not make it out of the preliminary round. He had a throw of 46-2.25.
The state champion in the shot put was Hunter Woodard of Tuscola with a heave of 60-4.5.
A-L’s Travis Eames also qualified for state in the 300-meter hurdles, but he did not compete in the event.
