AMBOY — Tyler Stewart, a senior at Amboy High School, has been named the December Student of the Month. He is the son of Alice and John McGraw and Bob Stewart

G.P.A.:  4.2/4.0

Memberships and Involvement:  I am the Spanish Honors Society president, the National Honor Society vice-president, the Amboy Student Council treasurer, the Northwest District Student Council treasurer, and the Class of 2020 secretary. I also participate in the Amboy High School Band and the Amboy High School Academic Team.

Awards and Honors: I received an Academic Excellence Award from the Congress of Future Science and Technology Leaders. I have also been accepted into the Torch and Laurel Honor Society, the NSHSS (National Society of High School Scholars), and I am an Illinois State Scholar.

Best Memories of AHS: Some of the best memories of my time at AHS come from being a part of the plays and musicals. Everyone is always having a good time, even during the stresses of tech week. I also can’t leave out all of the hilarious fails and funny moments that have occurred  throughout my four years in band.

Future Plans: I will be attending NIU in the fall of 2020. I haven’t decided on a major yet, but I have been accepted into the university and its honors program. I plan to audition for a spot on the field for the Marching Huskies.
