AMBOY — This winter hasn’t frozen the spirits of the talented students preparing for the Amboy High School musical production of “Shrek The Musical,” produced through special arrangement with Music Theatre International.

The Amboy High School production will have 7 p.m. evening performances on Friday, March 8 and Saturday, March 9. Additionally, there is a 2 p.m. matinee performance Sunday, March 10. All performances will be held in the Amboy High School James Braida Auditorium.

Audiences will delight in joining Shrek, played by Lucas Blake, the unlikely hero, and his loyal steed, Donkey, played by Dashad Greene, as they set off on a quest to rescue the beautiful, albeit slightly temperamental, Princess Fiona, played by Erin Latta, from her tower guarded by a fire breathing, love-sick dragon. Add the diminutive Lord Farquaad, played by Kelton Schwamberger, and a gang of fairy tale misfits played by students from Amboy High School and Amboy Junior High School, and you’ve got a must-see musical comedy, "Shrek the Musical."

The set was designed and built by Sue and Brad Latta, Jeff Blake and Deb Cleary.
