AMBOY — At approximately 9:51 a.m., on Monday, May 28, 2018, Lee County Sheriff’s Department responded to Yogi Bear Campground, 970 Green Wing Road, Amboy, to investigate a report of a bomb threat.
The surrounding area was evacuated and the assistance of the Rockford Bomb Squad was requested. The threat was later determined to be unfounded and remains a pending investigation.
Illinois State Police, Amboy Police Department, and Amboy Fire Department also provided assistance.
