AMBOY — To help the Amboy and Dixon community during this time of need, Sensient Flavors donated 150 Gallons of hand sanitizer to 11 local health organizations and emergency response personnel on Friday, April 17.

With the need and demand for hand sanitizer skyrocketing during the COVID-19 outbreak, Sensient Flavors, which employs 165 residents of Amboy and the surrounding communities, utilized existing equipment and capabilities to begin producing hand sanitizer on April 2 to support other Sensient facilities, customers and the community.

Sensient Flavors reached out to Amboy Fire Chief and Chief Operating Officer of Dinges Fire Company Jeff Bryant to help identify the local public health organizations in need.

The donations began on Friday morning in Amboy at Sensient Flavors with the City of Amboy Police Department, as well as Amboy, Sublette, Lee, Compton, West Brooklyn and Paw Paw Fire Departments receiving gallons of hand sanitizer.

In the afternoon, the Lee County Health Department, Lee County Emergency Management Agency, KSB Hospital, Dixon Police Department, and Harmon, Dixon, Ashton and Advance Fire Departments received gallons of hand sanitizer.
