Gina McCoy, owner of Iron Tree, vintage and reclaimed home decor shop in Amboy gives Katie Pratt, secretary for the Lee Co. Fair Association a donation made possible by sales of the “Green River Social Club” apparel line. The Green River Social Club first met on Jan. 1, 1913 and committed to helping neighbors during times of illness and death, and during the Depression and World Wars. In the late 1940s the Club turned its support to local community groups, including the newly formed Lee Co. Fair Association that established the current Lee Co. 4-H Center & Fairgrounds. This November-December, Iron Tree continues “The Club’s” legacy by donating a portion of sales of its “Green River Social Club” apparel line to the United Way of Lee County, Dixon, IL. Purchases can be made during store hours, Fridays, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sundays, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
