AMBOY – The Amboy High School Class of 1999 had a weekend full of activities to celebrate its 25th reunion.
Including opening the timecapsule secured in the memorial for Curtis Lee Boehle. Boehle born Dec. 22, 1980 passed away Sept. 17, 1988 when him and his classmates were in the second grade.
The memorial was placed in front of Amboy Central School on May 23, 1989 and had not been opened until the AHS Class of 1999 did it on Friday, Sept. 13. Also present were Curtis’ father Leon, his brother Brian, and Brian’s family.
Brian, eight years older than Curtis, said “It’s been a pleasure to be a part of this and to remember my brother. He is always in our hearts. I’m glad he’s still in all of their hearts. I’m very proud of where everyone is at today and the thoughtfulness toward him.”
