In ancient history, students explored the different advancements of ancient Egypt, focusing on the construction of the pyramids.

In order to grasp the challenges involved in building these complicated structures as tombs for pharaohs, students engaged in a hands-on project where they created their own mini pyramids, designed to hold offerings for their pharaoh’s afterlife.

Additionally, the class learned about the significance of hieroglyphics, the ancient writing system of Egypt. Students had the unique opportunity to experiment with this complex form of communication, helping them understand the systems of their society. Through these activities, students have gained insights into the challenges, questions, and inquiries that historians encounter when studying this fascinating civilization.

Students have been working hard on the fall play, “The Play That Goes Wrong”, which will hit the stage at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Nov. 1-2, and 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 3.

This play was performed on Broadway from 2017-2019 and follows a performance of a murder mystery, where the ill-fated theater company encounters numerous mishaps.

Tickets may be purchased at the door. We look forward to seeing you here. It’s certain to make you laugh.

In homeroom this week, students will watch a video on failure, and how you can either let the failure define your life or how you can learn from it and move forward. Students will talk about how their future can be influenced by the way they look and respond to the failures in their lives. We all have them, but we need to move forward in a positive direction. Share with your high school student a failure that you have experienced and how you worked through it.
Help them to see that everyone has failures, but we can’t let them define us.
