Amboy city council changes monthly meeting time

AMBOY — The Amboy City Council voted to change its meeting times.

On Dec. 16, the Amboy City Council met at the Amboy Community Center. Amboy Mayor John Schamberger brought up to the council members at the committee meeting on Dec. 2, about changing the meeting times for the council to 6 p.m., so that the committee meeting and council meetings would be at the same time of day, instead of two different times.

During the regular city council meeting, Alderman Dave Shaw said that he is happy to see a younger generation step up and serve the community and that he didn’t think changing the meeting time from 7 p.m. to 6 p.m. would cause any problems. He made a motion to change all council meeting times to 6 p.m. Brandon Klein seconded the motion. The motion was approved 5-0. Alderman Brett Dewey was absent from the meeting.

In other board news

• The board also approved a motion 5-0 to increase the sewer rates from a minimum of $9.13 to $13.75.

• James Mezo, Jr., was hired as full-time maintenance employee.

The next Amboy City Council meeting will be held at 6 p.m., on Monday, Jan. 20, in the Amboy Community Building.
