2018 Amboy Lions Draw Down a success

AMBOY — More than 220 people attended the Amboy Lions Draw Down event on Sept. 15 making it one of the most attended Draw Downs in years.

The night started with a delicious chicken and pork chop dinner furnished by Country Village Meats. Once again, the area businesses were very generous in donating prizes and cash for the Draw Down prizes. Without their support the Draw Down would not be the success it has become.

All profits from the event are reinvested back into the community through the many projects that the Amboy Lions undertake throughout the year. Some of this year’s projects have included the Cliff Walter Easter Egg Hunt, providing scholarships to five Amboy High School seniors, donations to the Veterans Park Flag project, installing AEDs in the Amboy and Sublette Community Centers, sponsoring the Amboy Depot Days Parade, many other donations to community projects, and sponsoring the upcoming Community Health Fair on Oct. 20.

Many attendees went home with prizes and cash. Sandy Wittenauer won the first 50/50 jackpot and the second 50/50 was won by Brian DeArmitt. The third place Draw Down winner was Dr. Kurt Crowe and the Grand Prize was split between Lane and Melissa Eisenberg and Mike Hambley. The second chance winner was Barney Ullrich and Nance Estes. The club thanks all of the area businesses and residents who supported this event.
