AMBOY — Sheila K. Clayton, 63, of Amboy, died Sunday, May 5, 2019, at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford.
She was born Dec. 9, 1955, in Amboy, the daughter of Kenneth and Lois (Balko) Koehler.
Sheila was a Manager at Amboy Bottling and then worked at the United States Post Office in Ashton and Dixon for 20 years prior to her retirement.
Sheila married Donald Clayton on Oct. 18, 1975, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Amboy.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Karen Koehler.
Survivors include her husband; one daughter, Erin (Greg) Welker of Byron.
"Mema" will be dearly missed by her grandchildren, Rory and Ryan Welker; one sister, Judy Gabelmann of Amboy; one brother, Steve (Sandi) Brown, of Evansville, Ind.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., on Friday, May 10, 2019, in St. Patrick Cemetery in Amboy, with the Rev. Timothy Draper, officiating. All are welcome at the Memorial luncheon which will follow the service at St. Patrick Catholic Church Hall.
A memorial has been established to St Jude Children's Hospital.
