FRANKLIN GROVE — Robert Eugene Logan, 85, of Franklin Grove passed away at his home on Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2017. He was born Oct. 29, 1931 to John B. and Lottie V. (Pitts) Logan in Lindenwood.

FRANKLIN GROVE — Robert Eugene Logan, 85, of Franklin Grove passed away at his home on Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2017. He was born Oct. 29, 1931 to John B. and Lottie V. (Pitts) Logan in Lindenwood.

Robert E. (Bob) Logan owned and operated Bob Logan Tractor Company in Franklin Grove and other business ventures for more than 60 years. He traveled the Midwest buying and selling used farm machinery.

He played the guitar, enjoyed country and folk music, and expressed great pride in the accomplishments of his children and grandchildren. He hauled scrap metals from the age of 14 and had a load on his pickup to go to the scrap yard at the time of his death.

Bob Logan is survived by daughters, Linda S. Deets and Debra (Tom) Mead, of Amboy, Julie A. Logan, of Dixon, Jeri Dempsey, of Franklin Grove and sons, Robert E. Logan and Marty E. (Loretta) Logan, of Franklin Grove and John A. Logan, of Rockford.

He is survived by 25 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Merle Sherman, of New Mexico and brothers, William J. Logan, of Ocala, Fla. and Gary (Brenda) Logan, of Brownwood, Texas.

He was preceded in death by daughter, Misti A. Logan and sons, Richard A. Logan (died in infancy) and Stuart J. Logan. He was also preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Frances Huxol, Jeanette Gilroy, Marlene Ebaugh, Hedy McCoy, Jo O’Briant and brother, John B. Logan.

Private graveside services for the family were held Friday, Oct. 6 at the Franklin Grove Cemetery following a family viewing. An open house celebration of Bob Logan’s life will be held from 2 – 6 p.m., on Saturday, Oct. 14, for family and his many friends to enjoy live music, personal sharing and refreshments at the Franklin Grove Brethren Church Fellowship Hall, 121 W. North Street.

Funeral arrangements were completed by Beverage-Lyons Family Funeral Home, Ashton.
