MAYTOWN - Mary Ann Cardot, 78, of Maytown died Feb. 6, 2020 at Stonecroft Village in Mendota.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 14 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Maytown. Burial will follow at St. Patrick Cemetery, Maytown. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 13 at St. Patrick Church, Maytown with the Rosary at 3:45 p.m. and on Friday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the church. Arrangements were handled by the Mihm-Jones Funeral Home in Amboy.

Mary Ann was born April 4, 1941 in Mendota to Gilbert and Bernice (Happ) Klein. She married Richard “Dick” Cardot on July 13, 1963 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Mendota.

Survivors include her husband; three children, Rick (Deb) Cardot of LaMoille, Denise Cardot of Morton and Kris (Tom) Goodwin of Dixon; two grandchildren, Stephen (Ashlea) Cardot of Ohio and Emily Cardot of Carol Stream; four brothers, Eugene (Henrietta) Klein of Mendota, Bernie (Diane) Klein of Mendota, Dennis (Carol) Klein of Sublette and Terry Klein of Sublette; and one sister, Toni (Mike) Fassig of Sublette.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Troy Klein.

Mary Ann was employed as an accounting clerk at Borg Warner for over 25 years prior to her retirement. She was also May Township Assessor for several years. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Maytown and was active in the church’s Altar and Rosary Society and Little Dresses for Africa sewing group. She was a doting grandmother and enjoyed playing cards, doing crafts and sewing and she crocheted many beautiful items for people.
