DIXON — Marcea Elisabeth Nelson, 93, of Dixon, died Thursday, Sept. 27, 2018, at Serenity Hospice Home in Oregon. She was born Aug. 25, 1925, in Compton, the daughter of Howard and Hilda (Kehm) Bodmer. She attended Lee Center High School.

DIXON — Marcea Elisabeth Nelson, 93, of Dixon, died Thursday, Sept. 27, 2018, at Serenity Hospice Home in Oregon. She was born Aug. 25, 1925, in Compton, the daughter of Howard and Hilda (Kehm) Bodmer. She attended Lee Center High School.

Marcea was a lifelong resident of Dixon. She had worked at Montgomery Ward's and also was a bartender at Trailside Tavern in Dixon prior to her retirement. She was a member of the Dixon Moose Club, Elks Lodge, and Dixon Rural Fire Department Auxiliary.

Marcea was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Norma Jean Bodmer; two brothers, Merle Bodmer, Sr., and Bernard Bodmer; her first husband, George R. Maves, Sr., her second husband, Roy Nelson; and long-time friend, Charles Chesley.

Survivors include two sons, George R. Maves, Jr., of Merriwether, Mich., and Gary G. (Tedi L.) Maves, of Davidson, N.C.; one brother, Leland Bodmer of Sebring, Fla.; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild; many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2018, in the Jones Funeral Home in Dixon with the Rev. Heewon Kim, officiating. Burial will follow in Woodside Cemetery in Lee Center. Visitation will be held from 4 – 7 p.m., on Tuesday, Oct. 2, in the funeral home.
