The Amboy-LaMoille girls’ track team hosted three other schools in a quadrangular meet on May 2 at the AHS track. Milledgeville-Eastland took the top spot with 96.5, points, followed by the Lady Clippers (77.5), Hinckley-Big Rock (35) and Earlville (16).
A-L grabbed six first-place finishes, led by Megan Grady in the 800- (2:33.68) and 1600-meter runs (5:52.62). Kelynn Boyle raced to the finish line first in the 3200-meter run with a time of 13:19.64, while Katelynn Pankhurst captured the long jump (16-9) and Allison Hicks took the shot put (29-11).
The other first went to the 4x400-meter relay time in a time of 4:18.74. Runners were Cassidy Corcoran, Pankhurst, Maddie Foster and Ashley Althaus.

The Lady Clippers did themselves proud in their first NUIC Conference Meet when they finished second out of 10 teams on May 4 at Dakota. Milledgeville won the meet with 127 points, while Amboy-LaMoille scored 108.
A-L had four first-place finishes, including two by Grady. She won the 1600-meter run with a time of 5:42.33 and captured the 3200-meter run in 12:43.92.
The other top finishes for the Lady Clippers came in relays. The 4x200 relay had a time of 1:50.58, with Cassidy Corcoran, Althaus, Sidney Corcoran and Pankhurst comprising the team. Cassidy Corcoran, Pankhurst, Foster and Althaus raced to first place in the 4x400 relay in a time of 4:15.04.
For her efforts, Grady was named the Most Valuable Player as voted on by the coaches. Joining her as all-conference members are Boyle, Ortgiesen, Vaessen, Sidney Corcoran, Cassidy Corcoran, Pankhurst, Althaus and Foster.
