MILLEDGEVILLE – The Amboy Lady Clippers posted their first win of the season with an 8-1 triumph at Milledgeville on March 22.
The game was tied at 1-1 through four innings before Amboy broke it open with three runs in the fifth and four in the sixth.
Alison O’Rourke had a huge all-around game on defense behind the plate and with swinging the bat. She supplied a double and a triple and drove in five runs. Dani Hochstatter helped the attack with a home run and a single, while Bailee Highbarger delivered two singles.
Highbarger was the winning pitcher. She gave up five hits, walked one and struck out five.
Amboy is 1-3 overall and 1-2 in conference games.
