DIXON — Karen M. “Moose” Lawson, 67, of Dixon, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family Thursday, Feb. 16, 2017, at her home. She worked in Quality Control for Coil Craft, Dixon.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2017, at Calvary Baptist Church, Dixon, with Rev. Wayne Epps, pastor, officiating. Cremation rites have been accorded.
Ms. Lawson was born Oct. 2, 1949, in Dixon, the daughter of Grant Logan and Lavina Mary (Helfrich) Lawson. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Dixon. Moosie, we will miss your beautiful laughter, clever wit, your caring demeanor, and all the great times we shared with you. You were a great aunt to your nieces and nephews. But most of all, the love of your life was your granddaughter, Mallory.
Surviving her are four brothers, Charles (Joni) Lawson, Raymond (Carol) Lawson, Dale (Dory) Lawson, Jim (Deb) Lawson; seven sisters, Dolly (Dave) Gugerty, Judy Kemp, Diana Lawson, Nancy (Steve) Smith, Connie Barone, all of Dixon, Susan (Gene) Johnson, of Belvidere, Jane (Mark) Imfeld, of Dixon; and one granddaughter, Mallory Lawson.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Patrick Lawson; five brothers, William Lawson, Thomas Lawson, John Lawson, Timothy Lawson, Ronald Lawson; and one sister, Linda Daraska.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
The family would like to thank Serenity Hospice and Home for the loving care that Karen received.
