ROCK FALLS – The Amboy-LaMoille cross country runners had a successful start to their season in the Rocket Run on Aug. 22 at Rock Falls.
The Lady Clippers finished in third place out of 14 teams. Cassidy Corcoran was the first A-L runner to finish and 11th overall with a time of 21:42. Margaret Vaessen checked in next in 15th place with a time of 21:58, while Kaitlyn Ortgiesen was 19th in 22:25. Also competing for the Lady Clippers were Kelynn Boyle (22nd, 22:38), Macy Mershon (35th, 23:28) and Ally Gascoigne (68th, 26:58).
“Great performances by the girls’ team finishing third and everyone improved on their times from 2016,” said coach Bob Halberg.
In the boys’ race, Tom Stamberger took fifth place in a time of 16:32.
