FORRESTON – The Amboy-LaMoille girls’ track team made a tune-up before the sectional by participating in the NUIC Meet on May 2 at Forreston. There were 10 teams in the event and the Lady Clippers finished third with 99 points. Galena-River Ridge-East Dubuque grabbed the top spot with 153 points and Milledgeville-Eastland took second with 124 points.

FORRESTON – The Amboy-LaMoille girls’ track team made a tune-up before the sectional by participating in the NUIC Meet on May 2 at Forreston. There were 10 teams in the event and the Lady Clippers finished third with 99 points. Galena-River Ridge-East Dubuque grabbed the top spot with 153 points and Milledgeville-Eastland took second with 124 points.
A-L finished first in six events, second in three events and third in two events, which earned all participants all-conference honors. Fourth- through sixth-place finishes were honorable mention all-conference.
The Lady Clippers broke the tape in three relays. The 4x100 had a time of 52.13, with Sidney Corcoran, Ashley Althaus, Brooklyn Whelchel and Emma Lundquist doing the running. The same foursome comprised the 4x400 relay team that ran a winning time of 4:22.70. Kaitlyn Ortgiesen, Kelynn Boyle, Lauren Althaus and Margaret Vaessen formed the victorious 4x800 relay that was clocked in 10:37.82.
Amboy-LaMoille also had three individual firsts. Vaessen claimed the 800-meter run in 2:32.62 and the 1600-meter run in 6:00.19, while Lundquist took the 300-meter hurdles in 50.57.
