AMBOY — Gary A. Mortenson, 63, of Amboy, died Friday, Sept. 14, 2018, at KSB Hospital in Dixon. He was born Feb. 8, 1955, in Amboy, the son of Elmer and Lois (Brewer) Mortenson.

AMBOY — Gary A. Mortenson, 63, of Amboy, died Friday, Sept. 14, 2018, at KSB Hospital in Dixon. He was born Feb. 8, 1955, in Amboy, the son of Elmer and Lois (Brewer) Mortenson.
Gary worked for Lilja Tiling Service in Amboy for many years, and most recently at Maplehurst Grain Elevator in Amboy prior to his retirement. He enjoyed spending time boating on the river and hunting.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his son, Cory (Kelli) Mortenson, of Amboy; two sisters, Susan Senn, of Amboy and Eileen (Dan) Willstead, of Dixon; one brother, Michael Mortenson, of Gardnerville, Nevada; and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Cremation rites have been accorded. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m., on Saturday, Sept. 22, 2018, in the Mihm-Jones Funeral Home in Amboy. Burial of cremains will be at a later date in Prairie Repose Cemetery in Amboy. A memorial has been established.
