AMBOY — Douglas Michael O'Rourke, 55, of Amboy, died Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2017, at University of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison, Wis. 

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Saturday, Nov. 4, 2017, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Amboy, with the Rev. Timothy Draper, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery in Amboy. Lunch will be served afterwards in the Parish Hall. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the American Kidney Foundation. 

He was born June 13, 1962, in Mendota, the son of Edmund "Peter" and Eileen (Donnelly) O'Rourke.

Doug graduated from Amboy High School. He worked at First National Bank in Amboy, W.G. Leffelman, (Case IH implement) and Vaessen Mechanical.

Doug loved working in the yard and preparing for the return of the Purple Martins every spring.  He was very interested in genealogy.

Doug is survived by his parents, "Pete" and Eileen O'Rourke, two brothers, Jeffrey (Connie) O'Rourke and Curtis (Renee) O'Rourke, nephew, Zachary and niece, Alison O'Rourke, all of Amboy; nephew, Nicholas O'Rourke, of Dixon; and many cousins.
