AMBOY — The Amboy Clippers split a pair of games with Ashton-Franklin Center, starting with a 2-1 loss to the Raiders on May 1 at Ashton.
Justin Hart was stellar on the mound for the Clippers, allowing just two runs over 5 2/3 innings, but he could not get any offensive support.
Mitchell McLaughlin had two hits and scored Amboy’s only run on an RBI single by Clayton Kemp.

Amboy’s offense showed up in a big way as the Clippers clobbered AFC, 12-2, on May 4 at Amboy.
McLaughlin, Kemp, Logan Whelchel, Lane Boehle and Hunter Zimmerly all had two hits for the Clippers, with Zimmerly swatting a home run. Freshman Carter Seier had a double and a run batted in, while Maverick Lindenmeyer and Hart also doubled.
McLaughlin pitched a completed game to earn the win.

Maverick Lindenmeyer #22, a junior at Amboy High School, plays first base, catcher, and pitcher.
