AMBOY — The Amboy Clippers baseball team traveled to Ottawa this week to take on Ottawa Marquette. The Crusaders entered the game with a 5-0 record and stayed perfect by narrowly beating the Clippers 2-1 in extra innings.

Hunter Zimmerly was excellent on the mound. He pitched 5 2/3 innings before giving up a hit and one run. Amboy tied the game in the top of the seventh. Mitchell McLaughlin walked, stole second and went to third on an error. Maverick Lindenmeyer drove him in with a sacrifice fly.

Justin Hart came in to relieve Zimmerly. He gave up 4 hits and took the loss. Hart was the lone bright spot on offense, collecting 2 hits.
