AMBOY — Blanche E. Gascoigne, 108, of Amboy, died Sunday, Jan. 14, 2018, at Maple Crossing in Amboy. She was born July 21, 1909, in Binghampton, the daughter of Levi and Minnie (Smith) Searls.

AMBOY — Blanche E. Gascoigne, 108, of Amboy, died Sunday, Jan. 14, 2018, at Maple Crossing in Amboy. She was born July 21, 1909, in Binghampton, the daughter of Levi and Minnie (Smith) Searls.
She had worked as a Secretary for Ruckman Insurance in Amboy, as well as a Bookkeeper for the Amboy Fire Department and Dickinson Hardware.
Blanche was a member of the Binghampton Neighborhood Club.
She married William A. Gascoigne in Amboy May 2, 1933. He preceded her in death Aug. 16, 1983. She was also preceded in death by a son, William Gascoigne Jr.; a daughter, Dorothy Floto; one grandson, Greg; six brothers, Floyd, Fred, Lyle, John, Glenn, and George Searls; and three sisters, Ruth Kohut, Hazel Mihm, and Grace Dillon.
Survivors include her children, Donald "Tuffy" (Wilma) Gascoigne, of Amboy, Betty (Bill) Ogan, of Clinton, Iowa, and Jack Gascoigne, of Savanna; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and two great-great-great-grandchildren.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 20, 2018, in Mihm-Jones Funeral Home in Amboy with the Rev. Mark Glenn, officiating.
Burial of cremains will be at a later date in Binghampton Cemetery in Amboy. Visitation will be held on Saturday, from 10 a.m. until time of service in the funeral home. A memorial has been established to the Amboy Fire Department. Condolences may be sent online at www.thejonesfh.com.
