For over 40 years Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Sublette has been running blood drives. On Tuesday, Dec. 5, the American Red Cross came to the church’s community room to hold another blood drive as they take place every 56 days. The blood drives, which supplies pie and other goodies after a donation, average 30 donors a month and had a showing of 47 during a drive in 2022. Our Lady of Perpetual Help organizer Carol Vaessen said, “I needed blood when I had children. That’s when I started donating. My neighbor was running the drives and when she stepped away, I decided to step in. It’s a great cause and everyone should donate to help the community.”
