The Amboy Lady Clippers suffered their first conference loss of the season, a 3-1 setback to Orangeville on April 9 at the AHS field.
Amboy scored the game’s only run in the bottom of the fourth and carried that lead to the sixth when Orangeville struck for two runs to forge in front. The Broncos added another tally in the top of the seventh.
Dani Hochstatter doubled for the Lady Clippers, while Gabby Jones and Mallory Powers both singled.
Bailee Highbarger took the loss in the circle for AHS.

The Clippers blasted Serena, 14-1, in nonconference action on April 12 at Serena. The game was called after five innings by the 10-run rule.
Amboy jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first and then erupted for seven second-inning runs to take command.
Alison O’Rourke swung a hot bat for the Lady Clippers with two triples and two runs batted in. Summer Bulfer delivered a pair of singles, while Abbie Ely had a double.
Highbarger was the winning pitcher, allowing three hits and striking out nine.
AHS is 8-2 overall and 4-1 in the conference.
