Lady Clippers host Pink Night with Polo

AMBOY — The Amboy Lady Clippers and Polo Lady Marcos Basketball squads teamed up to win the battle against cancer.

The two teams came together to host a Pink Out Night on Friday, Feb. 1, during their game. The girls held a 50/50 raffle, t-shirts sales and a silent auction. Together the teams raised over $3,000 during the night and contributed the proceeds to the CGH Health Foundation Women’s Health Program and Charity Stripe.

Women living in the Sauk Valley area, who are in need of health services, will be able to receive a mammogram, breast exam, Pap test and other diagnostic tests through the CGH Health Foundation because of their generosity. Proceeds also go to provide CGH Medical Center cancer patients with comfort bags. These totes contain gas, meal and phone cards along with other items which can assist in their cancer journey. Donations are accepted year-round by calling Amanda Blaine at 815-625-0400, ext. 5575 or making a gift online at Blaine was on hand during the event with a display of what services the CGH Health Foundation Women’s Health Program offers.

The Charity Stripe® is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization dedicated to raising funds for charitable recipients who are experiencing financial and/or emotional hardship due to military service, debilitating illness, natural disaster and/or other philanthropic conditions.
