Clippers take second place at home meet April 2


AMBOY – Six first-place finishes helped the Amboy-LaMoille boys’ track team to a second-place finish in the standings of a quadrangular meet on April 2 at the AHS track.

Kewanee claimed the top spot in the standings with 89 points, while the Clippers tallied 70. Sterling Newman was third with 55 points and Mendota had 29.

Austin Norman was a double-winner for the Clippers, taking the 110-meter high hurdles in 18.25 and claiming the 300-meter low hurdles in 46.12. Other individual firsts for A-L were Casen Cherry in the triple jump (38-11), Brady Becker in the discus (129-2) and Thomas Stamberger in the 800-meter run (2:10.9). The 1600-meter relay team broke the tape in 3:59.45.
