AMBOY — The Amboy-LaMoille golf season came to a close after two individuals participated in the Rockford (Christian Life) Class 1A Sectional on Oct. 9 at Elliot Golf Course in Rockford.
Clipper linksters Caleb Sarff and Clayton Kemp participated in the sectional, but neither could card a score low enough to advance to the state tournament. Their scores were not available. Marcus Smith of Winnebago was the individual champion with a 68.
The top three teams that will move on to the state tournament include Riverdale (300), Putnam County (310) and Rockford Christian (313).

The two Clipper golfers made it to the sectional round after competing in the Peru (St. Bede) Regional on Oct. 3 at Spring Creek Golf Course in Spring Valley. Sarff shot a 79 in the regional and Kemp recorded an 83 to move on.
The individual medalist was Ian Roach of Putnam County with a 72. The top three advancing teams were Riverdale (310), Putnam County (316) and Bureau Valley (353).
The Clippers were seventh in the team standings with a 367.
