MANLIUS – The Amboy-LaMoille boys’ track team could not advance anyone to state after competing in the Bureau Valley Class 1A Sectional on May 18 at Manlius.
The Clippers scored 12 points and finished in 13th place out of 15 teams. Sterling Newman coasted to the team title with 101 points, beating out second-place Bureau Valley (78) by a wide margin.
Thomas Stamberger had the highest finish on the day for the Clippers, coming in third in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:02.76. He just missed earning a trip to state as the top two finishers in each event qualify for the state meet.
