AMBOY – A slow start proved costly to the Amboy Clippers as they suffered a 50-22 loss to Somonauk on Dec. 17 at the AHS gym.
The Clippers scored only five first-quarter points and found themselves staring up at a 17-5 deficit at the end of the session. The second quarter was even worse as Amboy managed only two free throws and fell behind 28-7 at the break. The count was 45-17 after three frames.
Tucker Lindenmeyer topped the Amboy scoring chart with six points, while Ian Eller chipped in with five markers.

Amboy got back on the winning track with a 74-17 rout of Leland on Dec. 21 at the AHS gym.
The Clippers scored the first 23 points of the game on their way to the easy victory.
Eller dropped in 12 points to pace the attack, followed by Connor Simpson with nine points, and Brennan Blaine and Garett Ringenberg with eight tallies apiece. Also among the 13 players that broke into the scoring column for the Clippers were Lindenmeyer with seven points, Haden McCoy with six and Jordan Gulley with five.
