Boys Basketball: Clippers play Annawan in first round of Kewanee Wethersfield Class 1A Regional

KEWANEE – The Amboy Clippers have been assigned to the Kewanee Wethersfield Class 1A Boys’ Regional Basketball Tournament to be played Feb. 19, 21, 23.

Tournament action will begin on Monday, Feb. 19 with games at four different sites. The Clippers will travel to Annawan to take on the Braves at 7 p.m. If Amboy prevails in the first round, it will meet the winner of the Peru St. Bede-Galva game at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 21 in Kewanee. The other two first-round games will pit DePue against Fulton and LaMoille against Kewanee Wethersfield.

The regional championship game is slated for Friday, Feb. 23 at 7 p.m.

The winner of the Kewanee Wethersfield Regional will advance to the Hanover River Ridge Sectional to face the survivor of the Pecatonica Regional at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 28. The other two sectional teams will be champions of the Forreston and East Dubuque regionals.

Wednesday, Feb. 21

5 – Winner Game 1 vs. Winner Game 2 – 6 p.m.

6 – Winner Game 3 vs. Winner Game 4 – 7:30 p.m.

Friday, Feb. 23

7 – Winner Game 5 vs. Winner Game 6 – 7 p.m.
