IOWA FALLS, Iowa – Ben C. Jones, 67, of Iowa Falls, Iowa, passed away on July 27, 2017 at his home.

IOWA FALLS, Iowa – Ben C. Jones, 67, of Iowa Falls, Iowa, passed away on July 27, 2017 at his home.

Per his wishes cremation rites have been accorded. A private family service will be held.

Ben was born July 1, 1950 in Mendota, the son of Charles and Ila (Meyer) Jones. He married Debra Heida in Sterling, in 1987.

Ben is also survived by a daughter, McKenzie Jones of Iowa Falls, Iowa; his father, Charles; a brother, Kenneth (Peg) Jones; and sisters, Laurie (Craig) Walter and Linda (Curtis) Harrison, all of Amboy.  

Ben was preceded in death by his mother on Nov. 4, 2016.

Ben graduated from Amboy High School in 1968. He then continued his education and football career at Ellsworth Jr. College, Iowa Falls, Iowa. He then moved on to Carthage College in Kenosha, Wis., where he earned his degree and also had a successful football career. After graduation he fulfilled his obligation to his country and entered the Military in 1972. He was stationed in Korea as a Military Police. There he received his third degree black belt in Tae Kwan Doe. After his military duty was done in 1974, he started his career as a seed corn and bean specialist, recently retiring after 45 years of dedication to his career. After retirement he settled back in Iowa Falls, Iowa, where Ben's journey began and ended.

Ben made friendships with many people in his life and cherished the memories. Ben had a special place in his heart for nature and animals. He enjoyed his close neighbors and their conversations on his boat dock. He enjoyed swimming and jogging with his dogs.

Memorials have been established.
