ORION – The Amboy wrestling team ventured over the weekend to Orion for the Bob Miton Invitational.

The Clippers finished 12th out of the 22 competiting teams as they had three of their nine wrestlers stand on the podium.

Freshman Ty Florschuets finished fifth in the 106-poiund bracket, sophomore Landon Blanton was second at 120 pounds, and senior Lucas Blanton finished third at 175 pounds.

Amboy coach Brent Montavon said there were great competitors at the invitational from many different schools.

He was proud of his team finishing 12th with only nine wrestlers.

Montavon added the team has a lot to look forward to over the next few weeks as regionals begin on Saturday, Feb. 3.
