Baseball: Amboy travels to Ashton for regional play

ASHTON – The Amboy Clippers will participate in the Ashton-Franklin Center Class 1A Regional Baseball Tournament. The Clippers are the fourth seed in the sub-sectional.

Action will begin with two play-in games on Monday, May 13. The winner of the Kirkland Hiawatha and Ashton-Franklin Center game will advance to the semifinals to square off against Amboy on Wednesday, May 15 at 7 p.m. The other semifinal contest will pit the winner of the Earlville-Indian Creek game against top-seeded Forreston at 4:30 p.m. May 15. The two semifinal round winners will meet for the regional championship at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, May 18.

The champion of the A-FC Regional will advance to the Forreston Sectional to play the survivor of the Lena-Winslow Regional at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 22. The other sectional game will be between the champions of the Hanover River Ridge and Fulton regionals.

Wednesday, May 15

3 – (1) Forreston vs. Winner Game 1 – 4:30 p.m.

4 – (4) Amboy vs. Winner Game 2 – 7 p.m.

Saturday, May 18

5 – Winner Game 3 vs. Winner Game 4 – 1:30 p.m. (championship)
