AMBOY — At approximately 11:12 a.m., on Saturday, Aug. 12, the Lee County Sheriff’s Department responded to a report of a disturbance involving a stabbing in the 200 block of N. Bailey Ave., Amboy.
The victim, Stephen L. Gascoigne, 26, of Amboy, was transported to KSB Hospital in Dixon, with a stab wound to the abdominal area and was later air lifted to OSF St. Anthony’s Hospital in Rockford. He was listed in stabled condition.
The suspect, Daniel R. Deger, 21, of Amboy, fled from the scene prior to responders’ arrival. A warrant was issued for his arrest. On Monday, Aug. 14, Deger turned himself in to Lee County Sheriff’s Department and was arrested on the outstanding warrant for aggravated battery.
The Lee County Sheriff’s Department was assisted by the Amboy Police and Amboy Fire Department.
