Blackhawk Fire Fighter’s Association (BFFA) presented their bi-annual training school geared towards new and old firefighters and emergency medical professionals, located in Amboy, on May 1. Classes included hands-on live fire training in several different scenarios based on the student’s experience level. Rotations included basic hose handling, search and rescue, fire behavior and flashover. Firefighters also learned about vehicle extrication, pictured right. Other topics included EMS topics for the next generation, taking care of ourselves, and stragetic planning for creating culture excellence and juggling hats.
