In Sublette, the Memorial Day ceremony was held indoors at the Ellice Dinges Center due the rain storm. Master Sergeant Phil Harth, of Mendota, delivered the Memorial Day address. Harth is a 20 year veteran retired from the United States Air Force. He is Adjutant and Commander of the Mendota American Legion Post 540. Harth spoke about the many who have overlooked the purpose of Memorial Day. He said this day is for those who came before and fell before us and quoting George S. Patton, we thank God that such men lived.
