AMBOY-Main Street between US Route 52 and East Avenue was stripped down to the old brick base and then received a layer of new asphalt and given a fresh coat of paint. Designated accessible/handicapped parking spaces are available, on both the north and south sides of the street, at the west end of the 200 E. block and on the 100 E. block.
The East end of the block will undergo its own “facelift” by the Illinois Department of Transportation sometime in the future. The island containing the stop sign, curbs and crosswalk will be among items refurbished. Additional accessible/handicapped parking spaces may be added to the east end of the 200 E. block when IDOT completes the project.
