DIXON — Surrounded by red, white and blue banners, quotes from President Ronald Reagan and patriotic songs, the Lee County Republican Central Committee hosted a Grand Opening of their new Republican Headquarters in downtown Dixon on Saturday morning.
Prior to opening the new facility State Representative Tom Demmer addressed the crowd on the steps of the headquarters’ entrance saying, “If we hope to restore fiscal discipline and combat the culture of political corruption that has plagued Illinois for far too long, then we must elect Republicans who are committed to changing the culture in Springfield.”
Senator Brian Stewart echoed Demmer’s remarks saying, “We must get out every day between now and election day to get our friends, families and co-workers to vote the whole Republican ticket.”
Immediately following a short ribbon cutting ceremony the crowd flooded the lobby gathering yard signs and campaign materials.
Jennifer Dallas, Lee County Republican Chairwoman expressed that the event exceeded her expectations, “There is a lot of excitement for President Trump and all of our local Republican candidates and the turnout today is proof of that.”
For several hours people came and went throughout the morning as volunteers distributed more than 500 signs as well as other campaign material. The Lee County Republican Headquarters is located at 98 South Galena Ave. at the corner of S. Galena Ave and 1st Street – former US Bank Building.
