Foster graduates from Basic Training

AMBOY — PV2 Madeline T. Foster, of Amboy, graduated from Basic Training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri on Aug. 9, 2018.

During the 10 weeks of training, the soldier received training in drill and ceremonies, weapons, map reading, tactics, military courtesy, military justice, physical fitness, first aid and Army history, core values and traditions. Additional training included development of basic combat skills and battlefield operations and tactics, and experiencing use of various weapons and FTX training. PV2 Foster's final APFT score was exception at 289/300, one of the higher scores in Alpha Co.

PV2. Foster is the daughter of Michael and Kelly Foster and sister of Lauren Foster, of Amboy.

PV2. Foster was a 2017 graduate of Amboy High School and attended Sauk Valley Community College. She is currently attending AIT for 74 Delta training, CBRN Specialist: Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear Detection at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., 84th Chemical Battalion.
