Shirley Guay, local artist and shop owner of Amboy Arts and Antiques, was awarded first place in the fine art category at Woodlawn Arts Academy’s 11th annual Juried Art exhibit. The award was announced at the opening reception on Aug. 30. The exhibition featured artwork by the area’s talented adult and youth artists. It’s an open exhibit that runs through Nov. 8, during regular business hours, 9 a.m. – 8 p.m., Monday – Thursday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., on Fridays. Woodlawn Arts Academy is located at 3807 Woodlawn Road, Sterling.
