Christmas came early for a Dixon resident. Julie Landherr had her raffle ticket drawn for the 65 inch Samsung TV on Saturday, Dec. 19. The raffle, put on by the Lee County Honor Flight Committee, was an overwhelming success. The committee would like to acknowledge Thrivent Financial for their generous donation towards the raffle event. The committee also received additional donations made in honor of family members who served our country. The proceeds from the raffle will allow the committee to pay the cost for eight area veterans to go on future Honor Flights. The support for the Honor Flight Mission in Northern Illinois is unbelievable. We wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a safe and healthy New Year. Pictured are Honor Flight Committee members are, Jim Travi, Tom Bushman, winner, Julie Landherr, and member Tom Myers.
