AMBOY — Megan Grady, daughter of Linda and Jim Grady, has been named the April Student of the Month at Amboy High School.

GPA: 3.8 /4.0

Memberships and Involvement: FFA, National Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society President, Academic Team Captain, Cross Country, Track, Chorus, Editor in Chief of the Yearbook, Class of 2017 Vice President, Spring Musical, Young Seekers 4-H Club, Project LEAD Youth Sub Committee, vocal student at Woodlawn Arts Academy, and St. Patrick’s Church Choir member. I also volunteer at Granny Rose Animal Shelter and Feed My Starving Children with my family.

Awards and Honors: Most Valuable Cross Country Runner (four years), Most Valuable Distance Runner (three years), TRAC Honor Roll (three years), First girl in AHS history to qualify for cross country state and first to qualify all four years, TRAC All Conference (three years), TRAC Conference Champion (two years), and 4-H State Fair Delegate (two years).

Best Memories of AHS: My favorite memories of AHS is being involved in all the different extracurricular activities. I have made so many friends through FFA and the spring musical that I wouldn't have made without joining those clubs. I also love the small town atmosphere that our school has. I can get one on one help from teachers, which a quality I will miss once I head off to college.

Future Plans: I will attend St. Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa where I will study Elementary Education and run track and cross country.
