AMBOY – The wrestling mats were laid out Thursday, Jan. 9 at Amboy High School for a triangular between Amboy, Mendota, and Genoa-Kingston.
The Clippers fell to Mendota 36-35 and Genoa-Kingston 48-24.
All six Clipper competitors earned points against the Trojans as Chase Huggins (126), Keaton Thompson Shaw (138), and Jose Lopez (157) earned pins, Evan Flanagan secured a 21-6 technical foul at 215, and Aden Spinelli (106) and Ty Florschuetz (120) won by forfeit.
Against the Cogs, four of the six Clipper grapplers earned pins in Aden Spinelli (106 pounds), Keaton Thompson Shaw (138), Jose Lopez (157), and Evan Flanagan (215).
Genoa-Kingston beat both of its opponents in the triangular as the Cogs defeated Mendota 53-30.
