SUBLETTE – The Village of Sublette ushered in the Christmas season with its annual “Christmas in the Village” celebration on Dec. 1.

The local shops, restaurants and stores were open to welcome visitors.

The festivities included crafters and vendors in the Ellice Dinges Center and the Sublette Community Building. There were also dancers at the Dinges Center as well as refreshments.

The Grace Fellowship Church served free hot chocolate, cookies and popcorn. There was also face-painting at the church.

Lighting of the community Christmas tree took place at 6 p.m. in the downtown area following the lighted Christmas parade. To add to the festive mood, there was caroling around the community tree.

Santa Claus greeted children at the McGraw Tax and More office. A band also played Christmas music in the building.

Shuttle service was provided by Mendota Hills Campground to take visitors to the various locations.

The celebration drew a large crowd despite very cold weather.
