DAKOTA – Despite a double by junior Kiera Karlson and a single by junior Peyton Payne, the Amboy softball team couldn’t get much going as it lost 15-0 to Dakota Saturday, April 5 on the road.
Junior Alyvia Whelchel took the loss in the circle to the Northwest Upstate Illini Conference crossover after recording two allowed hits, five strikeouts, and no walks.
The day before, Friday, Amboy fell to non-conference opponent Putnam County, 27-9.
The Lady Clippers are now 1-6 on the season.
