AMBOY – The Amboy softball team couldn’t contend with Morrison and Lena-Winslow before Easter.
On Tuesday, April 15, the Lady Clippers fell 10-0 to Morrison without registering a single hit. Junior Alyvia Whelchel was the losing pitcher, while Morrison’s Bella Duncan struck out 18 and hit a batter with a pitch, which saved Amboy from allowing a perfect game.
Amboy fell to 3-9 on the season with a 11-1 defeat to Lena-Winslow on Saturday, April 19 at Lena.
Freshman Tinley Whitney lost in the circle, while senior Tyrah Vaessen was 2-of-3 with two singles, and juniors Peyton Payne, Brittlyn Whitman, sophomore Lili Leffelman, and Whitney each had one hit. Whitman tallied an RBI.
