OTTAWA – Senior Tyrah Vaessen and junior Kiera Karlson had the same box score at the plate as each went 2-of-4 with a double and a single on Thursday, March 27 against Marquette at Ottawa.
However, it wasn’t enough for an Amboy softball team victory, as the Lady Clippers fell 6-3. Amboy trailed 6-1 until it scored two runs in the top of the sixth inning.
Also hitting the ball for the Lady Clippers (1-4) were juniors Payton Payne and Brittlyn Whitman, and freshman Gabby Miller as each of them recorded a single.
The losing pitcher for Amboy was junior Ellie McLaughlin who allowed seven hits while striking out nine and walking one.
