AMBOY – The Lee County Farm Bureau (LCFB) is honored to recognize Jim Schielein, Dixon, with the Lee County Farm Bureau Distinguished Service Award in recognition for his longtime service to the organization.

Schielein started his Farm Bureau career as a Young Leader. He later served on the LCFB Board of Directors, including service as the Lee County Farm Bureau president, as well as on the Illinois Farm Bureau (IFB) Board of Directors for ten years representing Bureau, Lee and LaSalle counties as the District 4 director.

He has participated in several IFB programs including Agriculture Leaders of Tomorrow, Leaders to Washington, Grass Roots Issue Teams and more.

He is a long-time member, volunteer, and agriculture advocate.

The Distinguished Service Award was established to honor and recognize an individual or couple who has shown exemplary leadership and service to Farm Bureau, agriculture, and farmers in Lee County and beyond. Without the time, dedication, passion and vision from many hard-working volunteers, like Schielein, the Lee County Farm Bureau would not exist today.
